UTC Program
The focus of the University Transportation Centers program is to advance U.S. technology and expertise in transportation through education, research and technology transfer at university-based centers of excellence.

U.S. DOT Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA)
RITA coordinates the U.S. Department of Transportation's research and development programs, performs transportation statistics research and analysis, and is charged with advancing the deployment of innovative technologies.

Transportation Research Board (TRB)
The Transportation Research Board is a division of the National Research Council, an independent adviser to the federal government on scientific and technical questions of national importance. The TRB focuses on all modes and aspects of transportation, including publication and dissemination of reports and technical papers; management of research programs; conduct of special studies on transportation policy issues at the request of the U.S. Congress and government agencies.

Center for Excellence in Rural Safety
The Center for Excellence in Rural Safety was established in the recent federal transportation act (SAFETEA-LU) to facilitate training, research and educational exchange in the areas of travel safety and choices, technology, economic development, citizen participation, and community development
