Summary

Ferrol Robinson joined the Humphrey School in early 2009. He brings more than 30 years of consulting experience, working primarily for public sector clients. In recent years, the focus of his work has been on strategic planning and policy-related issues. His research areas are transportation pricing, including congestion pricing, and innovative uses of technology in transportation. Robinson is a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Congestion Pricing Outreach. He currently serves on the Minnesota Guidestar Board, made up of public- and private-sector partners, that advises the Minnesota Department of Transportation on matters related to Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Robinson received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1967, and a master’s in Civil Engineering, with a minor in Economics, also from the University of Minnesota, in 1976. He was Executive Vice President of the firm SRF consulting Group prior to joining the university.
