Summary

Brian Davis is interested in exploring new technologies and using existing technology in new ways to develop solutions to current and future transportation issues. His research has focused on the development and integration of systems including GPS/GNSS, cellular networks, LIDAR, embedded computing and machine learning algorithms. Currently he works on developing automated mapping methods to generate high-accuracy digital maps to enable run-off-road avoidance and other driver-assist systems. Previously, his work has involved the the creation of a non-GPS-based system capable of determining the jurisdiction in which a vehicle is traveling using cellular network information.

Davis has a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
